Dr. Anthony Goldstone

Dr. Anthony Goldstone qualified at Oxford University Medical School in December 1968 and became a Consultant in Haematology at University College Hospital in 1976. He has built a major leukaemia and bone marrow transplant unit, now considered the most prestigious in the UK and amongst the most important in Europe. He led to develop the new hospital and the concept of a new dedicated Cancer Centre of University College Hospital. Since 1980, he has built one of the largest private practices in Haematology and has been at the core of the joint venture project between UCLH and HCA (Hospital Corporation of America). He has published over 330 papers and he was awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in 2008. He has a long-standing interest in innovation and development, which includes the adaptation of ideas from outside the healthcare sector for the benefit of patients and the increasing number of elderly individuals in the population.
