Dr. Gong specializes in diagnosis and treatment of hypertension and related diseases, such as targeted organ damage, especially endocrine hypertension and resistant hypertension. Between 1992 and 2007, she was in clinical research on hypertension in the Department of Hypertension, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. She is now the Director of Private Medical Service Center and General Medical Ward in Ruijin Hospital. She was selected as Excellent Young Doctors of Ruijin Hospital. She received advanced training in Hypertension Research Center, the University of Queensland, Australia sponsored by One Hundred Person Program of National Project 211.
Dr. Gong was a Principal Investigator for projects supported by Natural Science Foundation of Shanghai, Major Program of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Major Research Program of Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau. These projects focused on the mechanism and treatment of cerebral small vessel disease in patients with hypertension, early optimal treatment of hypertension among patients with metabolic abnormalities, early diagnosis and treatment of primary hyperaldosteronism, regulation mechanism of aldosterone induced calcification of vascular smooth muscle cells, etc. She has won the second prize and third prize for Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, and the third prize for Shanghai Medicine Award.
