Professor Pappone is recognized as one of the global key leaders in the field of arrhythmia in the world. His pioneering research areas including the pathophysiology of atrial fibrosis, the globally recognized catheter ablation therapy called the "Pappone method", as well as the treatment of asymptomatic pre-excitation syndrome (WPW syndrome), and Brugda's synthesis Syndrome (Brugada syndrome). His groundbreaking research outcomes on pre-excitation syndrome and preventive catheter ablation treatment published in the New England Journal of Medicine led a major update of international treatment guidelines.
